Headteacher's Welcome
Welcome to St Paul’s!
Nestled just a short walk from the heart of Dorking, St Paul’s is a vibrant two-form entry primary school, welcoming children from Reception all the way through to Year 6. As a Church of England school, we’re proud of our close relationship with our local church, St Paul’s Dorking, which plays a meaningful role in our school life.
At St Paul’s, our vision—“Inspiring Learning, Nurturing Wholeness”—is at the heart of everything we do. It shapes our rich and creative curriculum, our outstanding personal development programme, and the wide range of opportunities we offer our children. From exciting day trips and residentials to after-school clubs and talent showcases, we aim to nurture every child’s unique gifts and passions.
Our six core values—Compassion, Hope, Perseverance, Respect, Trust, and Wisdom—guide us in helping children grow not just academically, but emotionally, socially, physically, and spiritually. We want every child to feel confident, cared for, and ready to make a positive difference in the world.
Our children are enthusiastic learners who support and encourage one another every day. They’re guided by a dedicated and passionate team of staff who bring energy, creativity, and warmth to the classroom. We hold high expectations for everyone in our community, and we foster a culture of kindness, inclusion, and mutual respect.
We also offer outstanding wrap-around care, including our popular breakfast club and the fantastic Action House after-school and holiday club, which is independently run but very much part of our extended school family.
Our parents play a huge role in school life too. Through FOSPA (Friends of St Paul’s School Association), they organise a variety of fun and inclusive events throughout the year—from summer and Christmas fairs to cake sales, quizzes, discos, and cinema nights. These events bring our community together and help everyone feel part of something special.
I hope this gives you a glimpse into what makes St Paul’s such a warm, inspiring place to learn and grow. We’d love to welcome you for a visit and show you the school in action. If you’d like to arrange a tour, please contact our school office at info@stpauls-dorking.surrey.sch.uk or call us on 01303 883547.
Enjoy exploring our website, and I look forward to meeting you soon.
Warm regards,
Mr Gary Papworth
