St. Paul’s C of E Primary School

Children in Need fun and games!

St Paul’s had a spectacular sport-tastic lunch time, thanks to our amazing Year 6 Sports Crew.

This week 10 Year Six children have been using their lunch times and break time to organise a sports event for Children in Need. They had to choose the games, think about the equipment they needed, make up the rules and think about how they could explain the games to children from Year R to Year 6.

All their hard work paid off, with almost every child in the school choosing to take part in their fun games today. The atmosphere in the playground was amazing, with one child even saying that it was his best lunchtime EVER!

There were three zones: obstacle races, team building games and target throwing. Throughout the afternoon the Sports Crew showed amazing determination and passion for sport and the community of St Paul’s really shone out. Year 3 buddies played with their Year R buddies as well as all other year groups playing well together and dancing to the music. Year R in particular have some proper groovy moves!

One child from the Sports Crew said, “It was quite hard at times but it was all worthwhile seeing so many children having fun and playing so nicely whist being so active.”

Our Sports Crew were in the lane after school with Children in Need buckets (designed by Anthony) and raised £193.58 for this brilliant cause. Thank you everyone- and a special thanks to Sports Crew for all their efforts.
