We're going on a bug hunt!
Oak and Ash have had a VERY busy day today. We started the day by observing our caterpillars. Ash Class used a microscope to zoom in on them and Oak had a camera too. They are now very big and fat and hairy, and almost ready to spin their chrysalis before emerging as beautiful butterflies!
In the afternoon, we all went on a bug hunt in the copse. We had a big list of minibeasts to find. After talking about where minibeasts might like to live, we went off to (carefully) lift logs and leaves to see what might be lurking. We found millipedes, woodlice, beetles and slugs- and we even came across a few frogs as well. Not quite minibeasts, but exciting all the same!
As if that wasn't enough, we then found out that Miss Stanley-Ward has now had her baby and enjoyed looking at the pictures. WHAT an exciting day!
