Willow's Viking Invasion
Willow invaded the hall this morning to tell us all about their Viking learning. We were treated to a veritable treasure-hoard of facts about the history of the Viking invasion and settlement of the British Isles, and their eventual defeat by the Anglo-Saxons in 1066. (shortly before the Saxons themselves were defeated by the Normans- the middle ages certainly weren’t short on action!)
Willow spoke brilliantly and confidently, with plenty of humour too- we nearly had a Scandinavian invasion of a different kind- flatpack bookcase anyone?! They had all learnt one of the Viking legends, involving Thor retrieving his hammer by devious means, with actions to match.
Finally, once the battles were over and the feasting had begun (luckily no-one had ended up in Valhalla), Willow gave us a final song featuring the entire history of the Viking invaders.
Well done Willow- between your wonderful costumes (thank you parents and carers!) and your amazing facts, we think you make pretty good Vikings indeed!
