Baghdad in the hotseat!

For their Spring Term history topic (no really- it is spring outside!), Baghdad circa 900, Year 5 have been learning about this great centre of Islamic civilisation, also known as The City of Peace.

They have spent the week learning key facts, have rebuilt the city based on visitors' and traders' accounts and, along the way, have discovered how influential ancient Baghdad was on the way we live our lives over 1000 years later.

To revise what we had learnt, we put Baghdad 'in the hotseat,' by asking questions like:

  • Who built you?
  • When were you built?
  • How long did it take to build you?
  • Why were you built?
  • Where were you located?
  • When were you destroyed- and why?

Why not ask some of our intrepid masterminds some questions to see what they've learnt this week!
