St. Paul’s C of E Primary School

Surrey County Cricket Finals

On Wednesday 21st June, Year 6 girls and a mixed Year 5 and 6 boys cricket teams went to Epsom College to take part in the Surrey County finals having both recently won their Dorking schools cricket competitions.

It was a glorious day for cricket and, despite the high temperatures, both teams played some excellent cricket and showed real determination to win their groups in the morning, putting them into the winners pools for the afternoon matches. At this stage of the tournament the competition was incredibly tough, with the best teams from all over surrey playing against each other. Both girls and boys teams played extremely well against schools who eventually went on to win the competitions. They should all be very proud of themselves and their achievements as both teams are in the top six school cricket teams in the whole of Surrey! They also showed good sportsmanship and great team work and are a credit to the school, well done!

Thank you to Mr Monk and Mrs Spence for supporting the teams during the day - the hottest since 1976!
