Tree of Prayer Service
The hall was lit up by rousing singing, thoughtful prayers and a real sense of joy this morning, as the entire school came together- all dressed in our festive finery to raise money for the Rainbow Trust- for our annual 'Tree of Prayer' service.
With three candles already lit on our Advent Wreath for the first three Sundays of Advent, each year group lit their own candle before reading a prayer they had written for the day.
The prayer was then hung on our tree, after which we sang a mixture of carols and new Christmas favourites. A particular highlight was Away in a Manger- Year R not only sang absolutely beautifully, but joined in with their actions too- more like Ahhhh-way in a Manger!
The Tree of Prayer Service is a wonderful way to begin our final week by thinking about the world beyond our playground, and offering our prayers for those whose Christmas may not be filled with love and laughter this year. The singing is also an amazing way to celebrate together as a school after all our individual services last week.
Here's to the last few days!
